What’s in a name?

This health insurance typically handles coverage for about 30 to 180 days, if your short-term plan runs longer than a normal coverage, you may also renew the plan but don’t rely too much further than a year, even thou plan usually covers up primarily for 12 months.

These short-tem plans have benefit limitations, by then you would be obliged to have an initial deduction or extra payments, basically short-term plans covers unexpected event of accidents regardless of sudden illness. Also from this plan are included to:

- You’ll be allowed to select your own physician or doctors, health care or even hospitals from your choice.
- Treatment for inpatient or outpatient services
- Hospital rooms including intensive care unit
- Board charges
- Lab examinations
- X-rays

The plans are rarely requires a full body examination, and treatment usually starts as soon as the insurer receives the application and 1st premium payment. Some application may be thru internet or mailed and payments also are made thru credit cards or check. If your going to use check, the provider must complete the information and application process.

And what’s not

This short-term health insurance doesn’t include medical exams, preventive care, dental or optical examinations, pregnancy or even childbirth expenses, most of them doesn’t include pre-existing conditions you had made, or if ever you have previous history from illness or injury from which you had given treatment from the past 5 or more years.

Short term health insurance is not liable from the health insurance portability and accountability act of 1996. They cannot guarantee their renew ability. But regardless of their limitations with their services, short term health insurance sure can also help your short coverage’s.
