ISO 14001 is an environmental management standard that exists in order to help organizations to minimize operation negativity that affects the environment. It identifies the requirements for issuing an environmental policy, determining impacts of products and services as well as related environmental aspects.

It has certain procedures that usually cover a wide range of issues such as contract control, training, audit, emergency preparedness, agency approvals, regulations monitoring, regulations, corrective actions and document control which is helpful for the company.

It also helps in planning measurable targets and environmental objectives, operation and implementation of programs in order to meet defined targets and set objectives, checks and manage reviews as well. Furthermore, ISO 14001 is flexible and generic enough for organizations round the world to apply for streamlining their manufacturing and production processes.
