Envelope Stuffing - a Scam or a Great Business Idea

Most people willing to start a work at home business do at least one of two major mistakes. First, they sign a contract with scammers who promise them excellent work opportunity only to cheat them out of their money and/or making them work free of charge. This is much more common than you may think! However, even if one avoids scammers, there is also another pitfall - a business which does not bring regular profits home. Unless you are able to start a business which brings regular, stable profit, working at home may become dangerous to your family finances. What you will be paid for - Do not believe in miracles. If you find an ad claiming that you can get $2 per each envelope you stuff (and you can easily stuff 20-30 envelopes per hour), be sure that there is a catch. I mean, what would be the point of going to college or working for years to become a senior manager in a corporation if one could get an easy and relaxing job for $40-$60 per hour? Most usually, such offers include two catches. First, they require a high upfront payment for the stuffing equipment. Then, you learn only too late that you are going to get paid $2 per envelope only if the person who received the letter actually converts. If he simply throws away the ad you prepared, you get nothing. To make long story short, you can get around $4 per hour maximum - and only if you are lucky and send interesting ad letters. You can easily work for days without receiving a single dollar. This is always written in small print in the agreement so you won't notice it only when it is too late.

Honesty is the best policy - All honest companies willing to cooperate with you will tell you everything about all details of your cooperation before you sign up or buy anything. Sadly, in case of envelope stuffing you get no information at all - they want you only to buy their starting kit, all the answers can be found there. Unsurprisingly, what they really say in the agreement added to the kit is: "You got it, friend. We cheated you out of your money and now we will cheat you out of your time if you're stupid enough to actually start stuffing our envelopes for $1 an hour."

Warranty - While all businesses are risky, legitimate companies always issue some warranties or assign some minimal payment you receive regardless of the conversion rate. That's how real legitimate business is done. The point is that there are virtually no envelope stuffing companies which offer minimal payments or any other guarantee.

To put it bluntly: you'd have to be an idiot or very, very nave to believe in envelope stuffing ads. First, you will be asked to pay them for starting it. Then you will have to work for them for free. Does not sound great, doesn't it?
